Herrmann's Platform is to access to Assessments, E-learnings and other Whole Brain® Resources.

Implementing the Platform for organizations often requires a technical migration and configuration phase of a couple of weeks.  This phase includes insuring IT is informed, we may need to be listed as a “trusted” site, email filters should be tested, and users are trained and ready to go.

Herrmann Platform Users have varying roles and permissions.

• Thinkers: Those who access the system in order to complete an assessment, complete e-learnings, see their assessment results, share their personal profile with others in their organization, view others in their organization who have shared their personal profiles, and view team results of those who have shared their profiles.
• Practitioners: Those who access the system in order to offer assessments and e-learnings
  to Thinkers, run assessment reports, view Thinker's results and their e-learning progress. Remind Thinkers to continue their learning journey and create teams of Thinkers for access on the Herrmann Platform.
• Team Managers: Some organizations have opted to allow any Thinker in their organization to create a Team to be visible on the Herrmann Platform.  The Managers of those Teams can then make changes to the Team by adding or removing team members. 
• Organizational Administrators: Those who access the system to help Thinkers within their Organization by unlocking the HBDI Assessment results, sending a password reset email, create Teams to be visible on the Herrmann Platform, move Thinkers from one division of the organization to another (example: if a Thinker is no longer a current employee, the Org Admin can move that Thinker to the Archives), request data setup changes for divisions of the organization, and run organization and division wide reports.

All Users are required to create a User account with a valid email address.

The Herrmann Platform sends emails for Practitioners.  These emails will come from admin@hbdi.com.  The email contains a link to the Axon system where the participant creates their own username and password in order to complete an assessment.

Practitioners who print reports will need to enable Pop-Ups for the Herrmann Platform.

Reports are provided via PDF.  At a minimum, a Practitioner will need Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Edge Browser shows blank page, white page, empty page

Reported Issue of a Blank Page when Logging Into the Herrmann Thinker Portal Using the Edge Browser

We're sorry that you are experiencing this challenge.  We have found that many who experience this issue are using the Edge Browser and their browser is out of date.

Our team is looking into the issue, to see what we can do about this issue, but a quick solution may be to "update" the Edge Browser.

If you use the three dots in the upper right corner and look for "About Edge" you should see an option to update.

Unable to login...

WHAT:

The Herrmann Platform now uses a login system aligned with Auth0.  This system provides extra protection for your login information.

While logging into The Herrmann Platform (Axon)  you might receive the following message: 
"wrong email or password"

If the system is not recognizing your email and/or password it could be a due to a misspelled email, password, or both. In rare cases, you might be trying to use credentials for an account that doesn't exist or for an account that has been locked due to too many unsuccessful login attempts. Below are things to check for to ensure that you are logging into the right place and using the correct credentials.

HOW:

Please note that emails and passwords are case sensitive.

Incorrect Credentials

Sometimes users will accidentally use incorrect credentials to try to access their accounts. Beware of case sensitivities, and potential incorrect spellings of emails and/or passwords.

• Example :

  • Email: Test.Acct@test.com (Correct) vs test.acct@test.com (Incorrect/no uppercase letters)

    Password: Password8!  (Correct) vs password8!  (Incorrect/no uppercase letters)

Note: If a user were to enter the credentials using the incorrect cases, they would get a the "wrong email or password" error.

Copying and Pasting Credentials & Additional Spacing

When a you attempt to copy and paste your email and password on a Windows and Mac operating system, sometimes it adds an additional space to copied text by default. If you are pasting your credentials in, it might be adding that additional space causing an error. To avoid this error, ensure that there are no spaces before attempting to log in.

Resetting Your Password

If the above steps don't work, you can also reset your password by using the "Forgot Password steps.

1. Or from the log in page, you can click "Need login help."
   
   
2. Enter your email address.
3. Click Reset My Password.
4. You will receive an email from admin@hbdi.com with a link and instructions on how to reset your password.
5. If you're not sure of the email address you used for your Herrmann Account, please use the "Need login help" option and then:
   

(NOTE: Password reset emails are only good for one use. If a user happens to make a mistake while resetting their password, they'll need to do the above again.)

Herrmann offers organizations a self-paced HBDI® learning journey, allowing Thinkers to learn about their HBDI® Assessment results and the Whole Brain® Thinking model in a flexible way that fits their schedules. 

The self-paced learning journey is a series of 8 to 9 micro-learning sessions, or modules, available in the Thinker Portal. (Module 9 is an optional module organizations can choose to enable. Read more under Modules 7-9).

How to access the self-paced learning journey

The HBDI® Assessment is available under the first Welcome module of the learning journey series, and once 100% complete, the next learning module opens. The modules must be completed sequentially.

Benefits of the self-paced learning journey

The flexibility self-paced learning journey is meant to fit within multiple Whole Brain® learning paths. The learning modules can be used as:

• Pre-session learnings for HBDI® Assessment results debriefs, led by a Certified Practitioner.
• An asynchronous method for a Thinker to learn their HBDI® results without a debrief.
• Reference materials that Thinkers have continuous access to, after attending a debrief. 

Other benefits of a Thinker going through the self-paced learning journey include:

• Accelerating the Whole Brain® Thinking learning process.
• Freeing up time for a Certified Practitioner to focus on advanced Whole Brain® Thinking applications and coaching. 
• Access to Whole Brain® learning anytime, anywhere. 
• Ease of starting, stoping or pausing learning. 
• Certified Practitioners have access to the module completion data of their Thinkers. 
• Prompting Thinkers to reflect on their results and complete necessary reflection activities needed for profile sharing. 
• Providing Whole Brain ® knowledge checks and activities to reinforce comprehension.
• Connecting to other activities within the Herrmann platform (like sharing and teams).

How to complete the self-paced learning journey modules

By reaching the end of the modules, Thinkers will have gone through a learning process that is equivalent to completing an HBDI® debrief with a Certified Practitioner.

Thinkers will experience 3 learning phases as they complete the modules:

• Modules 1-3: Understanding Whole Brain® Thinking
• Modules 4-6: Understanding My HBDI® Results
• Modules 7-9: Understanding how to apply My HBDI® Results

Modules 1-3: Understanding Whole Brain® Thinking

These first modules provide the HBDI® assessment and an introduction to the Whole Brain® Thinking model, including the cognitive science used to construct the theory behind thinking preferences. 

Modules 4-6: Understanding my HBDI® Results

The next few modules provide a detailed analysis of the Thinker's profile, the scores of each quadrant and how these scores may shift situationally. These modules also provide learnings on the different ways to interpret and understand profile results. 

Modules 7-9: Understanding how to apply my HBDI® Results

The final modules guide Thinkers through applying their thinking preferences in their every day life, with an emphasis on the workplace. Thinkers will be guided through the process of stretching their thinking preferences in order to collaborate with other thinking styles, as well as learn how their preferences appear in different situations. 

Module 9 is an optional module, available to organizations that have the sharing feature enabled. This module guides Thinkers through completing the information needed for their shared profile.

Next steps after the self-paced learning journey

Upon completing the modules, the Thinker will have access to all information and features available on their Thinker Portal homepage, including their HBDI® Digital profile. Depending on the organization of the Thinker, they may also have access to features like Sharing and Teams.

How to get access to the self-paced learning journey

Current Herrmann Organizations

• A current organization must make sure a contract is in pace with Herrmann. To get this set up, the organization must contact their Herrmann representative, or submit a support ticket.
• Once the contract is in place, Herrmann's Customer Advocacy Team will enable the feature for the organization. Please expect a one business day turn-around. 
• After feature enablement, all users will have access to the self-paced learning journey.
• Thinkers in the organization who created their user account prior to this feature being added will also have access to the learning modules.

New Organizations

If the organization has not yet worked with Herrmann, but is interested in experiencing the power of Whole Brain® Thinking, they can complete our contact form and a Herrmann team member will be in touch quickly!

How to roll-out the self-paced learning journey in an organization

• In Axon, organization's will have access to invitations with language to guide users through the self-paced experience. 
• Herrmann can provide recommended communications to Thinkers who now have access to the learning journey modules. It is recommended that the organization announces to previous Thinkers that they have access to new resources.
• If Thinkers have any additional questions or concerns with navigating the learning journey, or accessing it, they can submit a support ticket, or simply use the help desk chat feature available on every page in the Thinker Portal, the orange question mark in the bottom right-hand corner.

Supporting Certified Practitioners with the self-paced learning journey

• Herrmann provides resources to practitioners under the portal resources tab on the Practitioner Portal. 
• Additionally, Certified Practitioners can access articles and tutorials via the Help Center in the Herrmann Platform.
• They can also access these materials and Herrmann support through using the help desk chat feature available on every page in Axon and the Thinker Portal, the orange question mark in the lower right-hand corner.

Now Practitioners can offer Thinkers the ability to personalize, share and compare the HBDI® Results to move from self awareness and transcend to real world application.

How Does It Work?

Let's take a tour:

Once Thinkers have completed the Journey e-learning activities and unlocked their HBDI® results, they are presented with an additional series of activities to personalize their HBDI® results.  This process is extremely powerful and allows Thinkers to "think" through the many facets of their thinking preferences and how those preference can impact their interactions with others.

The Welcome Page describes the Sharing process and allows the Thinker to Grant Permission to sharing.

Note: A Thinker can revoke permission at any time from this screen or from the Sharing Tile.

Next, there are a series of activities that prompt Thinkers to consider and analyze their results.  Here's an example of one of them:

Within each activity, the Thinker can choose whether to share that information, or keep it private.

Once the activities are completed, the Thinker can view their personalized profile.  This will be the same view others will see, once the profile is shared.

The Opening Screen will display the Thinker's HBDI® Profile. The panel displayed to the left will display their Preference Code Energy Level, Introvert/Extrovert scale and a personalized "Things to note about my Profile include...".  Under the Profile section there are tabs for the following subsections: General Description, and then each of the activities: About Me, Introversion/Extroversion, Communication, Frustrations, and Building Trust.  These items appear as the Thinker personalizes the information about themselves.

Once a Thinker has granted permission to share their profile, the sharing tab will appear on their Portal dashboard.  Here on the dashboard, they can search for other Thinkers who have also shared their profiles.

Note: A Thinker must share their profile before they can see other Thinkers' profiles.

Once at least two Thinkers have shared their Profiles, they can Compare profiles for a more dynamic learning experience.  The Thinker simply types in the name or email address of the other Thinker in the search field and selects the them from the list.  Once they've selected a Thinker's profile to compare to, they can select the general HBDI® profile or the Under Pressure Profile to view. They can  further explore any of the sections that the other Thinker has shared.

Note: in the above example, Sam Sample has only shared the About Me section of their profile.  Therefore, the additional tabs at the top of the screen are not visible.

Why Does This Matter?

Thinkers can Share and Compare their profiles with any other Thinkers within their organization who have shared their profile. This feature brings the HBDI® results to life in a whole new way. 

Organizations are structured in the Herrmann Platform by using "Data Roles".  This structure allows organizations to establish their data in such a way that allow for proper sharing.  To learn more about how Data Roles can be structured for organizations, reach out to your Herrmann representative.

WHAT

• Login to your Herrmann Platform Home Page here:

• Be sure to "Grant Permission" in the Sharing tile to allow your personal HBDI® Profile to be seen by others in your Organization
• Look for your Teams tile
  

STEP 1:  Locate the "Create Team" button in your Teams tile...click

STEP 2:  Enter your Team's Name. 
Note: this is the Team name all members of that Team will see on their Herrmann Home Page

STEP 3:  Search for the members of your team using:

• email address
  or
• name: first and or last name
• Note: this is a "fuzzy" search tool.  You may find "close" matches.  

STEP 4:  Select the correct Team members and add them to your Team.

Add team members by clicking the +
Note: that you are automatically included in your team.

STEP 5:  Make note of those HBDI® Profiles that are "blurred"

A blurred profile means the Thinker has not shared their profile.  You can encourage them to do so by providing them with the log in link above, and encourage that they "Grant Permission" to share their profile.

Note: until Thinkers share their profiles, their data will not be included in your HBDI® Team Profile.

Almost there...

STEP 6:  Save the Team!  You'll be asked to confirm that you have the right members.

Click Save.

Once you save the team, others on this team will be able to see the HBDI® Team Profile on their Herrmann Home Page too.  Encourage them to check out the team by going to:

And if they haven't Granted Permission to share their profile, encourage them to do so!

New Option and Scoring in the Axon Thinking Analytics System

One of the questions within the HBDI® Thinking Styles Assessment is “Gender”.  This question has been included in the HBDI® since its inception. In response to increasing concerns about how gender is perceived and ever increasing data privacy concerns, and with the launch of the new Axon system, Herrmann has recently added “Prefer not to answer” as a response to the Gender question.   With this new option for Gender, Herrmann has also determined it best that we no longer attribute any HBDI® Profile points to the overall score for the Thinker based on their Gender choice.

What about HBDI®s completed in the HTMS
(Herrmann Thinking Management System)?

HBDI®s completed in the HTMS are being migrated to the new Axon system so those HBDI®s will continue to be accessible.  It is important to understand that migrated HBDI®s come over to Axon as "responses" by the Thinker, but not the HBDI® scores.  This way, we can standardize the scoring so that the Gender question no longer provides points to the overall score for a Thinker, regardless of which system they utilized to complete the HBDI® Assessment.

Why is this important to me?

As a Thinker, be assured that Herrmann is committed to your data privacy, and to the sensitive issues of providing personal data like gender.  Herrmann continues to adapt as necessary to respond to these concerns.

As an HBDI® Practitioner, you will need to be aware that the overall profile score for a Thinker may change slightly if you are reporting from the Axon system and you are using an HBDI® taken via the HTMS.  The score can vary from one system to the other by a matter of 1 to 2 points. This variation is expected, and should not cause any concerns about the data or the result for the Thinker.

A gentle reminder:  A difference of 1 to 2 points should not be a concern at all since mood and other factors can cause shifts in preference scores over time. Remember that the overall shape and tilt of the HBDI® profile and the preferences represented remain consistent for most Thinkers, unless they have experienced a life changing event.

You will also have the opportunity to personalize your Profile, and share your results with others in our organization using the additional steps in the My Journey tile in the Understanding Others section.

How Certified Practitioners  Accept a Shared Assessment

A Thinker will have entered your email address and has “shared” their assessment.  You will receive an email like this:

Jaime Q Public has shared the HBDI® with you.
Login to Axon to accss this assessment "here".

When you click on the link in the email, and login to Axon you will be presented with a page that looks like this:

On this Axon page,  you are given the opportunity to share this data or include this assessment in a “Data Role”.  (Reminder: Data Roles are the tiers within the Practitioner’s data in Axon, like an Organizational chart with tiers.) The Practitioner clicks within the “Shared With” box and selects the appropriate Data Role.  This is where the data will be located within the organizational chart of the Practitioner’s data. Many times a Practitioner will only have one Data Role, but they still need to step through this process and select that one Data Role.

Note:
When the Practitioner selects a Data Role, it is possible that other Practitioners have access to that same data.  This is why the Thinker is told in the initial “Share” box, that the Practitioner may share the data with additional practitioners and others.

Once the Practitioner has selected the appropriate Data Role, they click the “Grant Access” button, and now this assessment is accessible within that Data.

The Practitioner is then taken to the Assessments page and can use the Assessment, or they can add it to an existing group for further processing.

This feature in Axon, allows the Thinker to have much more control over ”who” can access their assessments, and it puts the responsibility of “sharing” the assessment in the Thinker’s hands, where it belongs.

Instructions for the Thinker

If you find yourself in the situation where a Certified Practitioner doesn't have access to your HBDI® Assessment, you can provide them with access in a couple of easy steps.

Login to your Herrmann Thinker Portal: 

https://journey.herrmannsolutions.net/thinker

 Then look for the option:  "Share With My Practitioner"

Once you click on this "button" you'll see a list of the Herrmann® Assessments you've completed, and you can then click "Share" next to the one you'd like to make available to your Certified Practitioner.

When you click “Share” a box opens like this:

Type in the email address of the Practitioner you would like to “Share” your assessment with, and then click the “Share assessment” confirmation.

Herrmann® checks to be sure that the email address entered is linked to a Certified Practitioner with the proper permissions.  If so, an confirmation box appears:

Or an alert is displayed if the email address is not linked to a Certified Practitioner:

In this case, the you'll need to verify you entered the correct email address, or you can contact the Practitioner for further instructions.

How to Access HBDI® Reports in Axon

Herrmann has a variety of HBDI® Reports (samples below) available to Certified Practitioners or Axon Administrators. When provided and interpreted by Certified Practitioners, the reports help Thinkers understand their thinking preferences, as well as in the context of working in a pair or in a group/team. 

The reports are available to run and export in Axon under the reports tab.

After clicking assessment reports, choose the type of report you want to run and the language you want the report to appear in.

You can type a few key characters for the desired report under select a report from the drop down below. The list of options will be narrowed down by your characters. For example, type "comp" and the "New HBDI® Group Composite Report" will display as an option.

NEW A4 AU HBDI® Individual Mini Profile The HBDI® Individual Mini Profile report is specially formatted to fit A4 perforated paper and includes the profile on each section of the report. This report has a frame size profile display, desktop name tent, name tag, and a wallet sized card with the Thinkers profile and strengths of each quadrant model.
NEW A4 AU HBDI® Individual Mini Profile Partial This report has a frame size profile display, desktop name tent, name tag, and a wallet sized card with the Thinkers profile and strengths of each quadrant model.    (Please note: The HBDI® Individual Mini Profile partial report is specially formatted to fit A4 Perforated Paper, but this report does not include the print of the profile on the name tag or name tent. This information was specifically left out to protect the Thinkers data until the Thinker is ready to share their profile.)
NEW A4 HBDI® Individual Title/Name Page The A4 HBDI® Individual Title/Name Page report is specially formatted for A4 paper and allows the Thinker's name to display though the HBDI® Profile Folder.

HBDI Alpha List for 1 Individual The HBDI® Alpha List report is a simple 1 page report often used as a packing slip an include the Thinker's name and scores so the Practitioner does not need to open the packet to see the Thinker's scores.

HBDI® Pair Report

NEW HBDI Pair Report Packet The New HBDI® Pair Report Packet contains 15 displays of the HBDI® Data for two Thinkers, encouraging the two Thinker's to engage in compare and contrast activities to  understand their thinking preferences.

HBDI® Group Reports

NEW HBDI Team Report Facilitator Copy The HBDI® Team Report contains 13 reports to explore how thinking preferences impact the interactions within the team.  The Facilitator Copy includes the facilitator's list of scores with an identifier for each Thinker.
NEW HBDI Team Facilitator's List of Scores (for Team Reports) The HBDI® Team Facilitator's List of scores is the report with the identifiers and will assist a facilitator in debriefing the Team report. For example the first bar on the Key Descriptors by quadrant is Thinker#1 on the list.
NEW HBDI Team Report Participant Copy The HBDI® Team Report contains 13 reports to explore how thinking preferences impact the interactions within a team. The Participant Copy does not include the facilitator's list of scores with identifiers for each Thinker.  This allows the participant to view the entire set of reports, while maintaining anonymity.
NEW HBDI® Group Average Profile Report The HBDI® Group Average report displays the overall average profile of the entire group, and includes both the overall profile average and the average Under Pressure profile.
NEW HBDI® Group Composite Profile Report The HBDI® Group Composite report displays every profile overlaid on one grid to compare and contrast all the profiles of the group.
NEW HBDI® Group Preference Map Report (with initials) The HBDI® Group Preference Map with Thinker's initials is only to be used if Thinker's are ready to share their results.  This report plots each Thinker's profile on a four quadrant map.  The closer to the center of the map, the more distributed the Thinker's profile across all four quadrants.  And the further out the profiles are plotted on the map, the stronger the profile is in that particular quadrant.
NEW HBDI® Group Preference Map Report (without initials) The HBDI® Preference Map with Thinker's initials report is to be used if Thinker's have not been prepared to share their results yet. This report plots each Thinker's profile on a four quadrant map.  The closer to the center of the map, the more distributed the Thinker's profile across all four quadrants.  And the further out the profiles are plotted on the map, the stronger the profile is in that particular quadrant.
NEW HBDI® Group Report (Composite/Average/Preference Maps) The HBDI® Group Report packet includes the HBDI® Group Composite HBDI® Group Average HBDI® Preference Maps In this packet: The HBDI®  Group Composite report displays every profile overlaid on one grid to compare and contrast all the profiles of the group. The HBDI® Group Average report displays the overall average profile of the entire group, and includes both the overall profile average and the average Under Pressure profile. The HBDI® Group Preference Map with Thinker's initials to be used only if Thinkers are ready to share their results.  It often is used by the Facilitator only.  This report plots each Thinker's profile on a four quadrant map.  The closer to the center of the map, the more distributed the Thinker's profile across all four quadrants.  And the further out the profiles are plotted on the map, the stronger the profile is in that particular quadrant. The HBDI® Preference Map with Thinker's initials report is to be used if Thinkers have not been prepared to share their results yet.
NEW HBDI® Group List of Participant Names Only (ABC Order) The HBDI® Group List of Participants Names is a simple list of names in alphabetical order.  It can be used as a roster as the Facilitator notes who is attending their session.
HBDI® Alphabetical Scores The HBDI® Alphabetical Scores is a list of scores in alphabetical order. This report can be used as a roster for the Facilitator to not only note who is attending their session, but also to get a sense of each Thinker's preferences.  Often Facilitators will highlight very strong or very low preferences in quadrants or modes. And they may highlight significant differences in the overall profile scores and the under pressure scores.
HBDI® Group Sorted Scores Landscape The HBDI® Sorted Scores report is a list of scores in quadrant preference order, sorted and highlighted by most preferred in A, then B, then C, and finally D.  Facilitators use this report of HBDI® Scores to get a quick sense of the strong preferences in each quadrant, and possibly quadrants where there is no representation of strong preference.
HBDI® Linear Continuum The HBDI® Linear Continuum report sorts the group of Thinkers by the most preferred in A, then B, the left mode, upper mode, multi-dominant, lower mode, C quadrant, right mode, and then D quadrant preferences.  This report is provided in an excel format to be easily edited and re-ordered.   This report is a fantastic tool for creating sub-teams using the data to quickly put together teams that have very similar thinking preferences OR to create teams that have very different thinking preferences.   Tip: Similar Thinking Preferences, decide how many sub teams you want.  Then number the list 1111, 2222, 3333, 4444, for example.  The #1s are a sub team, and so on.  It is very likely the 1's, 2's etc. will be very similar preferences.   For Different Thinking Preference sub-teams, simply number 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4 down the list and put the 1's together, 2's, 3's, etc.
HBDI® Linear Continuum PDF The HBDI® Linear Continuum PDF report sorts the group of Thinkers by the most preferred in A, then B, then left mode, upper mode, multi-dominant, lower mode, C quadrant, right mode, and then D quadrant preferences. This PDF report can't be edited, but does provide the data so that a Facilitator can understand the group's data by quadrant without opening or printing additional reports.

Now that your organization has approved Stop & Think, let's install and access Stop & Think in your Microsoft Teams app! 

Step 1: Install Stop & Think from the Microsoft Teams store

Step 2: Log in to Stop & Think

Step 1: Install Stop & Think from the Microsoft Teams store

Users have 2 options for how to install.

Option 1

Click here to add the app to any teams or chat.

Option 2

1. Access the App Finder: In the left sidebar, click on the Apps icon (represented by three dots).
2. Search for Stop & Think: In the search bar, type "Stop & Think" (with or without the quotes is fine). Locate the app in the search results. 
3. Add the App: Click on the Stop & Think app. Click the Add button to install it.
4. Pin the App for Easy Access: After installation, right-click on the Stop & Think icon in the left sidebar. Select Pin to keep it readily accessible.

Step 2: Log in to Stop & Think

Open the app and log in using your existing Herrmann credentials (The ones you set up and used when taking your assessment). 

Additional Step: Request Approval

If Stop & Think is locked in your organization, the installation button will say Request approval. Clicking this button will notify your Admin Team to approve Stop & Think.

Your Microsoft Teams Admin must go through the Admin Approval steps for the Stop & Think app. This is all done inside the Microsoft Teams Administrator Center. Please reach out to your IT Administrator and send them this information so that they can grant admin approval for the organization. 

Once the app is installed, Stop & Think can be added and used in any team, chat, or meeting instance within Microsoft Teams!
