Practitioners and Practitioner Assistants often ask "What should I say in the Invitation to encourage Thinkers to complete the HBDI® and finish the e-learning activities?"
If you are planning to send your Invitation from the Axon Herrmann Platform, you'll see a screen like this:
In the first "customizing" box, the system will insert a line of text that you can edit or even remove and re-create:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
____________ has invited you to participate in the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument® (HBDI®) thinking styles assessment.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We strongly recommend that you include in this opening paragraph the "WHY". Give the Thinkers the context, and or tell them why they are being invited to complete the HBDI® assessment.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Example:
Sue Practitioner has invited you to participate in the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument® (HBDI®) thinking styles assessment. In rpeparation for your training session on May 27th, you are encouraged to complete the HBDI®. In the training session we'll discuss how our Thinking Styles impact our work, and what we can do to improve our effectiveness at XYZ Corporation.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then there's text that ALL Thinkers received from the Axon, Herrmann Platform. This text cannot be customized or changed.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The HBDI® is a highly validated assessment resulting in a profile of your preferred approaches to thinking. This profile will help you develop insight on how you learn, make decisions, work in teams, solve problems and communicate.
The assessment measures preferences not skills. It is not a test; there are no wrong answers. Please respond to the questions as honestly as possible, keeping in mind your total self, at work as well as at home.
Instructions
- To start your HBDI®, follow this link https://axon.herrmannsolutions.net/invitations/sample?locale=en.
- This link is for your use only; it will not work for others.
- You'll need to create a user account on Herrmann International's website, using the email address where you received this message preview@example.com
- The assessment will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete.
- If at any point you need to return to your assessment or to other activities, you can follow the link above.
- Please ensure that you complete the assessment by the deadline.
------------------------------------------------------------------
And then there's another section for you to customize the conclusion of your invitation.
Here we suggest the "What's Next" instructions. This is the perfect place in the customized text to tell your Thinkers what you expect them to do AFTER they've completed the HBDI® assessment.
Here's an example:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Once you've completed your HBDI® assessment, you'll be provided with a link to your Thinker Portal. (And you'll receive this link by email too.) Follow the link to your Portal and then look for the "My Journey" tile on your Portal. There you will find the next steps in your learning journey.
(Include this if you are asking your Thinkers to unlock their results before your session)
The "My Journey" tile will have a few e-learning activities that will build your foundational knowledge of the Herrmann 4 Quadrant model, and you'll be able to unlock your assessment results using the Introduction and Self Directed Journey sections. Try to have your HBDI results unlocked before our session. It only takes about 20 minutes to get to see your results.
You will also have the opportunity to personalize your Profile, and share your results with others in our organization using the additional steps in the My Journey tile in the Understanding Others section.
Looking forward to seeing you at our session!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Making sure your Thinkers are clear on:
- Why they are completeing the HBDI® and Elearning
- What they are expected to do
- When they are expected to finish
- Who is asking them to take this journey
Are the key elements in a successful invitation.
It's just that easy!
