Note: This article was written in preparation for the My Journey e-learning activities to be updated on August 6, 2020.
A NEW version of the journey activities will be available on October 21, 2021 that includes a thinker debrief. (Check out the NEW journey feature here)
WHAT:
"My Journey" is the tile in the Thinker Portal that allows the Thinker to trek along a series of learning opportunities. Depending on the features that are turned on for the Organization in the Herrmann Platform, the My Journey tile may have a few steps or a number of steps.

Introducing the Thinker Portal "My Journey" Learning Activities
----------------
NEW: Practitioners who utilize the Journey e-learning steps now have two options as to how a Thinker can "Unlock" their HBDI® results.
1-Thinkers can complete a series of micro-e-learning activities and "unlock" their HBDI® Results on their own.
Or...
2-The Practitioner can choose to provide the Thinker with an "unlock" code and therefore determine when the HBDI® Results are unlocked, to coincide with the Practitioners learning plans. And the e-learning steps can be used as follow-up after the Thinker's debrief.
WHO:
Practitioners appreciate having the options to determine the best suited manner for "unlocking" the HBDI® results. Thinkers love the ability to have the micro-e-learnings available and unlock their results in their own time, and they love having the ability to come back to their Thinker Portal to use the micro e-learnings as follow-on resources.
WHY:
For context, previously the "My Journey" e-learning activities were enabled and the Practitioners had to choose between allowing the Thinker the "unlock" capability in the Thinker's time, but now the Practitioners can choose the invitations that works best for. AND, the Practitioner will have an unlock "button" just in case a Thinker doesn't finish the e-learnings but the Practitioner needs them to have the results.
HOW:
Invitations
First, the Practitioner(s) will want to ask their Herrmann Client Support team what the next steps are to include the Journey e-learning in their contract. And they'll want to be sure to ask about the other new features coming soon.
Once the Journey e-learning feature is turned on for an organization, Practitioners will be able to create their invitations and make the selections for each invitation to create the right "unlock" scenario session by session.
Note: If you do not create your own invitations in Axon, contact your support team to discuss ordering options. And, ask them about gaining access to Axon so that you can create your own invitations...you'll love having the power and flexibility!
In the Invitation creation phase, this new window of options will appear:
The "default" option will be marked to "Let thinkers access their results after a series of self directed learning exercises. This means that the Thinker's HBDI® results are locked until they have experienced each of the learning steps through "Guess My Profile". Once that step is complete, their results are unlocked.
The next option is "I want to control when Thinker access their results.
This option opens two additional choices:
Allow thinkers to unlock with a Custom Code OR to unlock with their Preference Code (ie. 1132 etc)
Once the choices are made, the invitation process continues as usual.
More Unlocking Options
If by chance a Practitioner needs to unlock HBDI® Results for a thinker or all the thinkers in an invitation, there are two options.
One by one a Practitioner can unlock a Thinker's results using this simple process:
- Search for and select "Thinkers" (not to be confused with the Assessment)
- Use the search criteria on the right side of the page to find the correct Thinker.
- Then click View Thinker's Profile
- And finally click "Click to Unlock"
This will unlock the HBDI® results for the Thinker and they can still use the Journey e-learning steps at their own pace. A great example of when you have one Thinker in a group of Assessments, and that Thinker didn't complete the steps to unlock, but your session is built on having all the Thinkers "unlocked."
And the second option is to unlock ALL the Thinkers within an Invitation.
If an Invitation was setup to use the Journey e-learnings but right before the session the Practitioner learns that several Thinkers didn't get far enough to unlock their results, and going one by one to unlock Thinkers would be too arduous. Not to worry.
- Search for the Invitation
- Edit the Invitation
- Look for the "I want to" statement: "I want to control how users access their results on the thinker portal."
- There you'll see an "Unlock" button.
Note: keep in mind that this button unlocks HBDI results for "Completed" HBDI Assessments. If a Thinker completes after you unlock the others, you'll need to unlock them using this method again, or use the "Thinker" unlock described above.
